Sure Shot Promotions is a Web business based out of Hanson.

“We do hundreds of sports auctions and fundraisers specializing in silent auction items for golf tournaments,” said Josselyn. “Most of our autographed merchandise sales are pretty much off the Web site.”

Josselyn said Sure Shot has the best inventory of New England players from past and present. It’s focus is mainly on New England and it doesn’t have too many national athletes.

“After the show, we’ll probably have some Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Robin Yount and Hall of Fame guys like that but mostly our core customers are the New England sports fans,” said Josselyn.

From Sure Shot Promotions Web site, www.sureshotpromotions.com, they offer thousands of different items. Josselyn said many of the things they sell are from past shows. The big fear in the industry, he said, is that the items aren’t authentic.

“Folks know us and that our autographs come straight from our own signings, so it’s less expensive, and guaranteed authentic,” said Josselyn. “We deliver, set up, collect payments, and provide credit card machines which allows for better bidding.”

Bids start a little under 50 percent of what you would see in a retail store. There is no middleman at Sure Shot Promotions so people who are looking for a particular item will see it twice as cheap.

Aside selling sports memorabilia, Sure Shot Promotions partners up with a number of other non-profit organizations. They work with sports groups, little leagues, hockey leagues, and charitable golf tournaments.

Opening in 2003 as a marketing company a lot of marketing partners and retailers that they were doing campaigns for said they would like to tie in with the Red Sox and Patriots because at that point they were both winning championships. Through this, Josselyn said they did work with some of the players agents and enjoyed working with them so they started calling to ask if there was anything else their players could work on.

“All of a sudden we were having these players come to our events and we started having them sign items for us,” said Josselyn.

Admission is free for children and senior citizens and only $5 for everyone else.

“It’s really something to see,” Josselyn said. “If you are a sports fan, you’ll get a thrill out of meeting these guys.”
